Elements Plugin

The History of Elements Plugin

e107 is managing content very well. But you need to be advanced user to not get lost in custom pages, menus, areas, layouts and other terms.

Everything what this plugin does, you can do with e107 itself. This plugin just saves time and site development is quicker with it.

I have this idea from my first theme for somebody. Everything was correct, they just weren't able to customize anything, and they never got how chapter menus work...  And I created some theme plugin with almost each my theme, but I wanted one solution for all themes. It was hard to manage them. Somewhere on YTB is my video about content blocks plugin idea...

Then AppStrap theme came and AppStrap plugin was first really working element plugin. But I hit next limit with variable layouts. Then I got idea with DNG theme and I created custom layout plugin.

And everything this came together while working on Gaia theme by Creative Tim.

How to get this plugin?

The only option how to get this plugin is with Gaia theme.  It's paid theme for really  symbolical price for everything that is inside.

If you plan to use this plugin for your own themes, I recommended buying premium support when you get access to GitHub repository.

New in January 2019:

This plugin is now part of OpenMind theme too.

The Future of Elements Plugin

Now Element plugin is used on this site with DNG theme and I have plans to rewrite AppStrap theme to work with this and theme plugin.  Developer licence wasn't cheap.

Yes, it's probably needs to clean a lot of details, but I use it myself, so it will be fixed for sure.
